Connect to the Yarra - photography exhibition
An exhibition of photographs of the Yarra River, taken a century apart, has completed its six-month journey down the river.
The 'then and now' photographs formed the main attraction in the Connect to the Yarra travelling exhibition, along with the 'Long Yarra Quilt' - stories from communities along the Yarra, in textile.
The exhibition stopped off at various places along the river, starting upstream at Warburton's Upper Yarra Arts Centre, before heading to Montsalvat in Eltham and Abbotsford Convent, and then finishing its tour at the Scienceworks Museum near the mouth of the river.
Connect to the Yarra is a partnership between Melbourne Water, Museum Victoria, Dandenong Ranges Music Council, schools and local community members, photographer David Roberts and Kate Whitehouse, who participated in the Long Yarra Walk. It is supported by the Shire of Yarra Ranges and Monash University.
